Rogaine

Rogaine products are topical products remedies for men and women, males and females, and contians Minoxidil, used to treat hereditary hair loss.

Symptoms of hereditary hair loss:
Members of your immediate family or extended family, male or female, have experienced hair loss.
You notice more hair than usual in the shower drain, on your pillow, or in your hairbrush.
The skin on your scalp, especially the crown of your head, is more visible.
You’ve changed your hairstyle to cover up your hair loss.

If at least two or more of these statements have yes answers, you may be experiencing hereditary hair loss.

However, there are many conditions, diseases, and hair care practices that can result in excessive hair loss. If you have no family history of hair loss, your hair loss is sudden or patchy, or you do not know the reason for your hair loss, it’s important to talk to your lair loss doctor or dermatologist and get the correct diagnosis before you use Rogaine.

Rogaine Regular Strength For Men


Rogaine's active ingredient: Minoxidil 2% 

Uses: To regrow hair on the top of the scalp 

Warnings: For external use only.

Flammable: Keep away from fire or flame

Do not use Rogaine if:

your degree of hair loss is more than that shown on the side of the carton, because this product may not work for you
you have no family history of hair loss
your hair loss is sudden and/or patchy
you don't know the reason for your hair loss
you are under 18 years of age. Do not use on babies and children.
your scalp is red, inflamed, infected, irritated, or painful
you use other medicines on the scalp

Ask a doctor before using it if you have heart disease.

If using this Rogaine product:

do not apply on other parts of the body
avoid contact with the eyes. In case of accidental contact, rinse eyes with large amounts of cool tap water.
some people have experienced changes in hair color and/or texture
it takes time to regrow hair. You may need to use this product 2 times a day for at least 4 months before you see results.
the amount of hair regrowth is different for each person. This product will not work for everyone.

Stop use and ask a doctor if:

chest pain, rapid heartbeat, faintness, or dizziness occurs
sudden, unexplained weight gain occurs
your hands or feet swell
scalp irritation or redness occurs
unwanted facial hair growth occurs
you do not see hair regrowth in 4 months
May be harmful if used when pregnant or breast feeding.

Directions:
apply one ML of Rogaine two times a day directly onto the scalp in the hair loss area
using more or more often will not improve results
continued use is necessary to increase and keep your hair regrowth, or hair loss will begin again

Other information:

before use, read all information on carton and enclosed booklet
keep the carton. It contains important information.
in clinical studies of mostly white men aged 18-49 years with moderate degrees of hair loss, the following response to 2% minoxidil topical solution was reported: 26% of men reported moderate to dense hair regrowth after using 2% minoxidil topical solution for 4 months (26% had moderate to dense regrowth; 33% had minimal regrowth). This compares with 11% of men reporting hair regrowth after using the placebo, the liquid without minoxidil in it, for 4 months (11% had moderate to dense regrowth; 31% had minimal regrowth).
store at controlled room temperature 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F)

Inactive ingredients:
alcohol, propylene glycol, purified water 

In addition to the original Rogaine solution, there is the Rogaine foam.

Rogaine Men’s Foam

Another Rogaine product and is the first and only FDA-approved hair regrowth foam. It contains 5% minoxidil, the same FDA-approved ingredient in Men’s ROGAINE® extra strength solution that’s clinically proven to regrow hair. And because it’s a foam, it goes on easily and dries fast. It’s not greasy and it doesn’t run or drip.

Rogaine costs about $40 per month. You can buy it without a prescription.

Women's Rogaine was introduced to help women who are experiencing hereditary hair thinning.

The list below will help you determine if Women’s Rogaine might be right for your condition.


You describe your hair as fine or thin.
You’ve changed your hairstyle or cut your hair shorter because you are dissatisfied with the fullness of your hair.
Your ponytail is smaller than it used to be.
You notice more hair than usual in the shower drain, on your pillow, or in your hairbrush.
Members of your immediate or extended family, male or female, have experienced hair loss.
If you part your hair in the middle of your scalp, the width of the part shows more scalp than normal.

If two or more of your answers are true for you, you may be experiencing hereditary hair loss.

However, there are many conditions, diseases, and hair care practices that can result in excessive hair loss. If you have no family history of hair loss, your hair loss is sudden or patchy, your hair loss is associated with childbirth, or you don't know the reason for your hair loss, it’s important to talk to your hair loss doctor or dermatologist.

Hair loss in women: while Women’s Rogaine may not be right for you, your healthcare professional may offer other options such as hair transplantation, wigs, or hair weaves.
