Consumer Reports Ratings And Reviews

If you're looking for a review of hair loss remedies, hair loss treatments and hair loss products, I always suggest going to Consumer Reports magazine and checking out their reviews and ratings when doing your research. I find most products covered there. Even if a year or two has passed  you can find some relevant information.   The interesting thing is that Consumer Reports from my checking has not covered any hair loss products of the many products out their  today, nor has it reviewed hair loss remedies or hair loss treatment. One can wonder why.  Perhaps it is because none of them work or would it take a scientific studies of all of these to come to conclusions.  I'm not sure.  And they wouldn't be covering natural treatment probably if they are home remedies.

So in hundreds of hours of checking for reviews and ratings I came up with a consensus of sorts,  a compilation of reviews and ratings that may help in your research.

I will outline the consensus of the reviews here.  This is actually better than Consumer Reports because if covers treatments that they might not touch on in hair loss product reviews.

For many years a cure for baldness has been pursued relentlessly.  In times long ago, remedies included boiling mixtures of herbs, fats from crocodiles, snakes, geese and chicken dung.  Then many years after that new approaches included blistering the scalp with acids, leeching, and using suction. All of this has been in the hope of stimulating growth.

Today there are more civilized options.

My Own Consumer Reports

Hair Loss Remedies and Hair Loss Products as Hair Loss Treatments in Male Pattern Baldness

The first treatment , remedy or product that people want to invest in is the over-the-counter treatments like taking vitamins, using lotions and special hair loss shampoos. Americans have spent $3.5 billion on these remedies.  New products are introduced every day to help achieve amazing results. Unfortunately, none of these treatments, except Mioxidil, has been proven to work, or to the degree that they do, they simply add fullness to the remaining hair and camouflage thinning areas, plus you have to have major concerns about using any of these powerful drugs on your body. Much is absorbed through our skin that we are not aware of and can wreak havoc with the immune system.  It's merely a temporary solution and typically consumers are disappointed with the results or lack of.

Laser Light Therapy Treatment For Hair Loss

Laser light therapy is where a pure red laser light is concentrated on the scalp to increase the blood supply to the hair bulb cells,  It's thought that the cells absorb the laser light and then begin to repair themselves, leaving hair stronger and healthier. However the effectiveness of the laser light therapy has not been approved by the FDA. The lasers lights used in doctor's offices are much more powerful than the home units.  See on this site:  Laser Hair Loss Treatment

What Causes Hair Loss?

It has been proven that hair loss in male pattern baldness is caused by the hormone DHT. Laser therapies do not affect the production of this hormone. Therefore laser therapy doe not stop the principle driver of male pattern baldness.

Hair Systems and Hair Extensions Hair Systems for Hair Loss

Hair systems and hair extensions hair systems are custom made heads of hair that are normally designed from quality human hair.  The color and texture are matched to your hair type and it is attached to your scalp through a fitted base material.  These systems seem like a bargain but they can start at as much as $3800. This does not include an alternate piece and maintenance.  And there is always a fear that it could fall off or not look natural.

Hair extensions are pieces of hair that are either sewn or woven into your existing hair.  A side effect of the hair loss method is traction alopecia which is the permanent localized hair loss that develops where extensions are attached as a result of constant pulling.

Hair Transplantation Procedure for Hair Loss

Al the treatments above may actually inhibit you hair loss and they are not permanent solutions.  One permanent solution to curing hair loss is the hair transplantation procedure. Most people want their hair back, that is hair that grows, that you can cut and style and is permanent. Hair transplantation procedure restores your natural hairline through an artistic redistribution of hairs from the back and sides of the heads to the thinning, balding areas on top.  One of the most well known companies is Bosley and you can easily get brochures from them.  Bosley works with physicians around the United states so they arrange for a consultation with one in your area.  You may not be able to find out the cost without having the consultation with the specialist or doctor. That is the downside.  There are plenty of photos or pictures showing before and after.  I think there are some areas that can't be completely covered  and it seems in the pictures that I've seen that the very front of the receding line still seems to be bare. In any event the treatments would be expensive and I believe they are done over time in several sessions.  See on this site: Hair Transplant

This ends my own consumer report. This cover most of the hair loss testaments except for the natural home remedies.  Many people have reported success with natural home remedies and there are ebooks written by men who have done it themselves.  I don't know if any of these natural treatments would work for you. For the most part they seem harmless but always proceed with caution.

We highly recommend world-famous Hair Loss Consultant Jonathon Phillips' ebook >> "Hair Loss No More!"<<  What I particularly like about this ebook is that it's honest and to the point!  It doesn't make any false claims and you know right where you stand and what you can do NOW! Click Here!
